Help your notifications
find their pocket.
Setting up for the first time, or missing one source? Start with these checks.

First-time setup
Automatic capture requires iOS 27. Choose your source apps and enable the automation in Shortcuts.
Agree to saving in the app
Go to Settings → Capture setup and checks. Read and agree to local notification storage. Make sure Accept new notifications is enabled.
Import the template and choose apps
Use the app’s quick install button to open Apple’s Shortcuts import page. After adding it, select your source apps in the notification trigger.
Enable the automation
Return to Shortcuts → Automation and turn on the new item’s switch. Automation Turned Off means it is not enabled. Check the execution-while-locked options available on your device.
Verify with a real new notification
Receive a new notification from a configured source, then return to NotiPocket and check capture. Verify the source, title, and text in History. The capture receipt is a local app identifier, not an Apple notification ID.
A few useful answers.
Can I set up a separate automation for one missing app?
Try a dedicated notification automation that selects only that app. Enter its fixed name, such as Instagram, in Save Notification’s Source App field. Keep Title, Subtitle, and Body connected to the notification trigger’s variables, not general Shortcut Input. Remove the app from the original multi-source automation to avoid duplicates. This can help with wiring issues but cannot guarantee every notification.
Why does it say Unknown source?
If any title, subtitle, or body text is present, it is saved even when the source is missing. A multi-source automation should use the notification object’s App property. A fixed source name is suitable only for an automation dedicated to that app. NotiPocket does not guess from the previous record.
The automation ran, but nothing was saved.
From version 0.7.2, inputs with no text in Title, Subtitle, and Body are silently skipped. They do not add a record, count, or capture verification. If text is present but is not saved, check consent, Accept new notifications, and the most recent error in Settings.
Why are recalled messages sometimes missing?
Different notification types may expose different fields. A successfully saved text copy is not automatically removed when its sender recalls the message. But if the recall event supplies no text, the app cannot reconstruct it or guarantee a recall notice. A dedicated automation may help diagnose source wiring.
The local test worked. Why is capture still waiting?
A local test checks storage, not the automation. You can tap Done, return to History and continue using the app. Check capture again after a real notification arrives through Shortcuts.
What about photos, stickers, and app icons?
Capture includes only text exposed through Shortcuts, not notification photos or attachments. A sticker may have only a text description. You can manually import a source icon once using the system Photos or Files picker in appearance settings.
How do retention and deletion work?
The default is 30 days, with 7, 10, 30, and 90-day options. Retention starts at capture time. Expired records are hidden and cleaned up when the app opens or saves new input. Delete selected items or a whole source in History or Search, or clear everything in Settings. This does not change messages in the source app.
Why didn’t the 8 PM summary appear?
Enable Daily Summary in NotiPocket and allow system notifications. It counts successful captures from the previous 8 PM to the next; local tests are excluded. Scheduling refreshes when the app opens or saves a notification. Focus modes, notification permissions, and system scheduling may affect when it appears.
